This vista is nearly identical to the one I painted seventeen years prior, Victory Boulevard at Dawn which had become a popular image.

I was approached by many people who were familiar with the orignal piece, asking if I would paint the revised skyline. It was a painful thought, but I decided to do it near the one year anniversary of September 11th.
