I still so vividly remember,
That day, that nine-eleven,
A single lady, but one in thousands,
Plunging from the flames,
Yet still holding down her flapping dress,
While her life was ending.
Here I am - and far from home,
In danger in a foreign land,
The unknown lady is still beside me,
As I face the one who killed her,
Killed her with all the others.
I hope that mystery lady,
And she had to have had a family,
Does not judge me harshly,
As we remain unknown to one another.
I remain proudly unsung in the shadows,
In service to that lady,
Who beckoned me to duty,
And to take small justice,
In trading bad souls for those so good.
