Animated typography about the painting "I'm not making this up (a.k.a. Shoot the Terrorist)," which was first seen in 2009 on the Seaside Heights, NJ boardwalk. I added the title "I'm not making this up" after witnessing people view my large-scale painting with disgust at Brooklyn exhibition curated by Nathan Trotman, Associate Curator of the Soloman R. Guggenheim Museum, because they thought the imagery was a fantastical, twisted scene I imagined instead of the painting as documentation of a historical moment of time and how a deeply wounded population sought to cope with an unimaginable and devasting event. In the following years, the shooting gallery changed to "Shoot the Guido" and "Shoot the Greek." After Hurricane Sandy, these types of shooting gallery boardwalk stands with social and political commentary disappeared. In 2012, this video was shown at The Tanks, Tate Modern, London, England as part of the Tracey Moberly: TWEET ME UP! exhibit.
