On 9/11 after witnessing the unbelievable devastation on TV that morning. I was driving into town still in shock when I almost hit this eagle with my car. I lived near Ignacio Colorado. I slammed on my breaks as he swooped down to pick up a dead rabbit on the road. I saw his eyes and this painting came into my head. The eagle represented America and her strength. We will always fight as one nation to overcome anyone who tries to hurt our country.

The eagle is coming out of the smoke from 9/11. America is the Guardian of Freedom. Strong and good. We will always fight oppression and tyranny.
