Peter M. Lehrer is an internationally recognized leader in design and construction management with more than 40 years of experience, who has devoted considerable time to civic activities in New York City. Lehrer co-founded Lehrer McGovern, which grew to become one of the largest and most respected construction management firms in New York City. The firm merged with Bovis Ltd. to become a world leader in construction, having managed projects such as the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, Euro Disneyland, Canary Wharf, and the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island restorations, plus numerous New York City landmark projects, including Metrotech, the College Point printing plant for the New York Times, New York Hospital, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the restoration of Grand Central Station, and many more.

Lehrer became the chief executive officer of Bovis Inc., which was the holding company for Lehrer McGovern Bovis; McDevitt Street Bovis, a Southeast-based construction company; and Schal Bovis, a Midwest-based construction company. The combined U.S. organization employed more than 1,700 construction professionals and was responsible for nearly $2 billion of construction work annually, making it consistently one of the three largest construction organizations in the country.

In addition, Lehrer served as vice chairman and director of the London-based parent company Bovis Construction Group, which is now Bovis Lend Lease. After having resigned from this position at the end of 1995, he continued as a non-executive director until mid-1998. Currently, Lehrer is a real estate developer and chairman of Lehrer Cumming, which provides construction consulting services.
