Terri J. Richardson

Assistant Commissioner, Cultural Institutions, Department of Cultural Affairs, City of New York

Terri J. Richardson is currently Assistant Commissioner, Cultural Institutions at the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. She previously served as senior advisor to the deputy mayor for housing and economic development, and her portfolio includes arts, culture, and libraries. Prior to her tenure in city government, she was the government and community affairs officer at the Brooklyn Museum, the senior policy analyst for child care and early education at FPWA, and a production coordinator and assistant production coordinator on freelance films in New York City.

Richardson holds a BA in political science from the University of California Davis and an MS in urban public policy analysis and management from the New School. She lives with her family in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
