New York Says Thank You

New York Says Thank You Foundation is a “pay-it-forward” survivor empowerment organization that has engaged volunteers of all ages in all 50 states and 26 countries in its disaster relief, citizenship education, and healing arts programs.

The New York Says Thank You Foundation's Stars of HOPE is a community-based therapeutic arts program that enables volunteers to express compassion through creativity and connect with anyone in need of hope anywhere in the world. Stars of HOPE has positively impacted the emotional recovery and resiliency of survivors of natural disasters and human-caused tragedies worldwide by reminding people they are not alone.

As a partner, New York Says Thank You: 

  • Contributed the iconic image of its annual 9/11 anniversary “barn-raising” project, which appears in the historical exhibition of the Museum 
  • Restored The National 9/11 Flag, brought it on an historic 50-state tour, and donated the flag to the Museum to mark the official its opening on May 21, 2014
  • Empowers participants in the 9/11 Memorial & Museum's annual 5K Walk/Run and Community Day with its Stars of HOPE healing arts program 

Tuesday’s Children

Tuesday’s Children is a nonprofit family-service organization that has made a long-term commitment to every individual directly impacted by 9/11. Since 2001, Tuesday’s Children has promoted healing and recovery by strengthening family resilience, providing individual coping and life management skills, and creating community through programs, mental health support, and family engagement opportunities.

As a partner, Tuesday’s Children:

  • Provides ongoing programs, mental health and family support, and engagement opportunities to promote long-term healing for those most profoundly affected in the 9/11 community. 
  • Collaborates with the 9/11 Memorial Museum on spreading awareness of the evolving 9/11 story and shares information about the Memorial and Museum with the 9/11 community members in their outreach.

VOICES Center of Resilience

VOICES Center of Resilience is a support and advocacy nonprofit organization that addresses the long-term needs of those impacted by 9/11, promotes national preparedness, and through the 9/11 Living Memorial project, commemorates the lives of the men, women, and children killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The 9/11 Living Memorial gives family members the opportunity to chronicle the lives of their loved ones by submitting pictures, memories, audio, video, and other information.

As a partner, VOICES:

  • Helps victims’ families provide photographs and mementos for the 9/11 Memorial Museum’s memorial exhibition
  • Has made the 9/11 Living Memorial available in the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
  • Shares information about the Memorial and Museum’s programs and offerings with the 9/11 community members in their outreach.

9/11 Day

Founded by MyGoodDeed, Inc., 9/11 Day supports the annual 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, which provides a positive way for people to forever honor the victims, survivors, first responders, and the many others who rose in service in response to the 2001 attacks.

As a partner, 9/11 Day: 

  • Mobilizes volunteers to dedicate an annual day of service in tribute to a victim of the September 11, 2001 or February 26, 1993 attacks.
  • Promotes the Memorial and Museum’s programs to the educators and volunteers in their outreach.

StoryCorps

StoryCorps is a national oral history initiative that provides Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of their lives.

As a partner, StoryCorps:

  • Created the September 11th Initiative to collect and record remembrance interviews for each of the 2,983 victims of the September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 attacks.
  • Shares oral histories from survivors, rescue workers, witnesses, service providers, and others and facilitates oral history recording days in the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
